Ronald Stubblefield
ETC (Emerging Technology Centers) Assistant Director
Ronald Stubblefield (Ron) is currently the Assistant Director for the ETC (Emerging Technology Centers)-a venture of the Baltimore Development Corporation focused on the incubation and acceleration for early stage technology-based startups. He is a proud alum of Morehouse College, the Stanford University School of Engineering where he earned a M.S. in Management Science and Engineering, and the New York University School of Law where he was a Jacobson Law and Business Scholar and graduated with distinction as a Vanderbilt Medal winner. He is also a Certified Entrepreneurship Center Manager (CECM) by the International Business Innovation Association and is licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland.
Professionally, Ron has designed and implemented financial models and strategic plans for a variety of colleges, financial institutions, non-profit organizations, political campaigns, and foreign governments. He also served an editor for the 2015 edition of the swap treatise entitled OTC Derivatives Regulation Under Dodd-Frank: A Guide to Registration, Reporting, Business Conduct, and Clearing. Since then, Ron has served as a Neighborhood Legal Fellow and a Neighborhood 360 Fellow with the NYC Department of Small Business Services, where he assisted Business Improvement Districts with corporate governance and assisted a Chamber of Commerce with economic development research, managing Shop Local campaigns, and strategic planning. He also served as a Baltimore Corps Social Equity Fellow with the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership. In this role. he launched and managed the South Baltimore Gateway Benefits Improvement District program. He also testified before the Baltimore City Planning Commission and Maryland State Legislature on public financing for public space improvements. In his present role with the ETC, Ron oversees day to day operations of the ETC and provides legal and business advisement and counseling to client companies. He also submitted recent testimony to the Maryland State Legislature to support the expansion of support for state funded technology-based internship programs. Finally, Ron also travels around the word to conduct trainings on corporate governance, equity and inclusion, and economic development. These trainings have been included in meetings and summits hosted by the Maryland Business Innovation Association, JumpStart Inc., National Pre-Law Diversity Inc., Brand New Congress, Justice Democrats, and UBI Global’s upcoming World Incubation Summit. He also advises other incubators throughout the State of Maryland on programming and incubation operations.
